Moons
The celestial bodies above Rearth Vega appear in various forms to certain inhabitants.
Primary Moon– Lunas, a milky grey sphere that moves through multiple distinct phases each month. When full it can light the night and is often visible during the daytime.
Secondary Moon– A secondary moon sticks half way out from behind Lunas and goes by many names to many cultures…
Elves– see an additional Silver Moon Betha
Wizardry– casters see Velkor emanating black and red with duller stars in the night sky.
Holy– casters see Yahwen with a bluish white glow and brighter stars in the night sky.
Weirding– casters see Spree with green and pink flecks; at night constellations are connected with faint green and pink threads between stars.
Native Neathens– To those born in the Neath who have traveled to the surface, Lunas appears as a bright stone disc with a very visible human face staring at the surface of Rearth Vega with malice. Some cultures refer to Lunas as Father Hate.
Aetherdens– Seasonally the Moons will release fluctuating ribbons of magic some call the Glimmering. Invisible to those without magic skill, small cracks can be seen on the Moons releasing streams of magic. These are highly localized and while each region may expect it seasonally, there are very few places where these streams of magic can be regularly witnessed and often for an extremely brief time. These streams of magic are celebrated, or feared, within many regional cultures and cause magic to react extremely erratically the closer a caster is to the Glimmering. Dangerous locations known as Aetherdens can form if excess Glimmering settles into lowland enclosures. Caves can be common sites for Aetherdens in the days or weeks following a Glimmering. Residual magic pools in the small pocket rooms of some caves and can lead to extremely dangerous casting for Adventurers who risk using magic near an Aetherden.
