3.6 Biomes

Biomes

Based on a Character’s Background all Players start with a bonus in being familiar with one environment. Players should be as specific as possible, preferably in two descriptors. (wealthy urban, cold swamp, windy prairie, dark sea). The Warden can give players a plus 1 bonus to appropriate rolls while they are within environments they are comfortable or knowledgeable with. Conversely they can lower rolls by one while players are in unfamiliar or unsuitable environments. Each level a player gains an additional Biome of comfort or knowledge. This can be from adventures they have just experienced (a dark swamp, sunny Faefree) or from study and training they have chosen on a place they may one day go (dragons lair, seafaring ship).
