Major Cults and Religions
All players have some sort of divine oversight, having been chosen by a deity whether they are aware of it or not. A player’s Blessing is from their deity. Due to the amount of Gods with varying powers between the Realms, a player can identify any Deity they wish as their patron or leave it to the Warden to reveal.
| First Kings – Common in the South East, followers worship the last 7 leaders of the Human Kingdoms who achieved Lichdom and to some believers, Godhood. The True Son– Followers are awaiting the birth of the Matarasi, a Human who will grow to be a Messiah savior to the Continent, clearing the Deep Mist and whose ascension will be the dawn of a new age. Draconists– Members of the Dragon’s Dharma, followers believe their proper place is in a hierarchy ruled by Dragons as the natural order of the world. The Quiet Children– Followers worship the Mother of Whispers, psychopomp and God of the Duskrealm Aan Allsii– Mostly in the South West. The Aan Allsii serve a pantheon of Gods led by Sariiph Allsii through slavery, blood offerings, and sacrifice. Zinka– Believers live in a state of constant inebriation where they can reach out to their God Kalfas who lives in an altered reality. Bright Lands– “Bright Landers” are mostly in the central lands of the Veda. Believers plan for a holy pilgrimage through the Deep Mist to a Heavenly land beyond. Many build boats far from the oceans and carry them to the shore for their first and final voyage. Warborn– Worshippers of Vagreth, God of War. Vagreth also refers to a celestial endless battlefield that adherents want to earn entrance to through death in battle. Shrrshlooomnsh– Supposedly an ancient Fungan call of decay to collectively support the decomposition of an entity. Followers are most common with Fungans and Florians. Belief in a recyclable power within living beings passed on through the absorption of the decay of physical matter. | Glimmidden– Followers of Iseldra, sometimes personified as a mother goddess, worshippers do not believe in an actual Goddess but rather the magic within nature. Adherents listen to the words of trees and the music of water. Popular through the Faefree and woodland regions. The Gennian Order of Fundament– Nicknamed the “Dunkins”, worshippers cleanse their sins in freshwater rivers and streams. Nicknamed the “Drowners” some militant sects enact their judgement on sinners with drownings. Heart and Hand– Common near the Inner Seas of the Old Empire. Worshippers of the Child Emperor. The Clean Room– Sometimes carrying brooms and nicknamed “Sweepers”, a cult of casters worshipping the Sphinx and the secrets of knowledge kept by the Sphinx. Hammer and Anvil– Mostly Dwarves, worshippers of Dhurradin. Patron of Craftsmen, Miners, and Dwarves. The Black Harvest– Worshippers of the Deep Gods. Practicing child sacrifice, often dropping their offerings into the bottomless chasms of Central Mountains of the Continent in exchange for Magic. Northern P’Nau has a sect known as the White Harvest which sacrifices into the ice crevasses. The Brave Wall– Pilgrimages to the southern tip of Ghaal involve ceremonies facing the Deep Mist as it arrives to the brink of land. Followers believe their presence is what is repelling the Deep Mist. |
